This was from beginning to end the best meal we have had in a long time. The atmosphere was warm and intimate. The vintage background music was soothing. The scallops and risotto dish was perfectly prepared, the pastas were fresh and delicious. The tiramisu was outstanding. Our server, Emer, was hospitable, well informed, and prideful about the food. We will definitely return to this restaurant when in Boston again.

Not sure sure why locals call this place a tourist trap. Been going for years and the food is always awesome. While not traditional Italian, it's still very good Italian American food. The restaurant has a very Cozy vibe but can get pretty loud. Service is always stellar as well I will continue to come here time and time again 5/5 Cinghiale Gnocchi- with wild boar. The gnocchi is pillowy soft with a sizable serving of boar- which was tender and delicious. 5/5 Baked octopus and squid- Squid was soft and tender octopus was tender and had a nice sear on outside. This was great 4.5/5 Halibut- perfectly cooked. Very tender and so juicy on inside. Some of the best halibut that I've had.

I went to Mama Maria's for a friends birthday that was held in their private room and it was absolutely incredible. Our server was the best server I've had at a restaurant in Boston in the past few years. They were so friendly, funny, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu items. The food was all so delicious. We shared the apps (Beef Carpaccio, Burrata, Spring Salad, and Wild Boar Gnocchi). For my entree I got the Lobster Agnolotti Pasta which was perfect. It was three large ravioli looking pastas filled with huge chunks of lobster meat. We shared 3 desserts and they were all great. I'd highly recommend Mama Maria's for a special occasion as they made the night so memorable!

This is apparently the best Italian restaurant in Boston. I absolutely love the North End area and I was excited to try this place out. We came here after traversing around the city all day in the freezing cold. Granted it's a nice restaurant with white tablecloths and we did not exactly fit the bill. However, we still had a lovely dining experience. Our waiter was an Italian man who clearly knew more than us and I respect that. We split several things such as the fall salad, the bison, gnocchi, the Bolognese and the baked oysters. The pastas were very good. The oysters were a bit much and the salad was fine. We also split a very nice bottle of wine which wrapped up the meal nicely. Overall, everything was good and the meal was adequate . Is this the best pasta in Boston? I highly doubt it. I have had much better pasta in New York and Chicago. Granted, I am a harsh critic, and this is still a lovely dining experience.

Loved this spot. It's in a nice little area in the city, surrounded by bars and restaurants. The restaurant itself is super small, or seems to be, and then you walk in and they take you through a maze and you realize how large the restaurant actually is. The ambience was great, and the food was even better. We got the crab salad, boar gnocchi, and the lobster agnolotti and loved all of it. Deff a solid spot!

Service: As a late birthday celebration, we came as a group of 4 hoping for a last-minute open table and were lucky enough to be seated outside during a nice perfect September late afternoon for dinner. The host was accommodating in showing us the menu *Pro Tip: it changes daily! Ambiance: The outdoor seating consisted of about 10 tables or less spread out in the center area right outside the entrance of the restaurant. There was small table lighting for once it got dark and nice linen tablecloths and napkins at each setting. Price: The average starts at 20 for anti-pasta or appetizers / smaller dishes, so it is a bit pricier. However, the quality and unique flavors are very worth it! Food: We got an appetizer of fresh warm soft centered yet crispy crust bread with in-house pickled olives and light pesto sauce. The pastas are made fresh in-house and absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and paired with savory creamy sauces and scrumptious sides/add ons! I ordered the lobster ravioli, which turned out to be a slightly bigger portion than expected, perfectly portioned filling to pasta ratio. I didn't expect the mushroom and sauce to pair as well as they did and couldn't put my fork down once I took my first bite!

The environment is amazing. Service was spectacular. Margarita with grapefruit was boring. Meatballs were good. Gnocchi with lamb very good. Ossobuco was ok. Meat with carbonara was very good. I missed a good/different dessert to finish this meal.

Food snob here.... Italian and Croatian roots. We know food. Wow and wow! From the service to the food, every detail that matters they got right. I will forever dream of the lamb gnocchi. We also had the ossobuco and Pasta con Sugo... delish. Ovi was our server and he was great. Pro tip: order it all. Note: seasonal menu, they have a new menu everyday.
